The
Lord wants us to put Him first so He can go before us.
He wants to encompass us all around and within so
that He might hold us up and that we might have a place of
balance. Our
feet need to stand in an even place so that we’ll not
stumble or fall, so that our steps will not slip or slide.
This is the place of abiding, this is the place of
perfect rest. The
Lord can’t use someone who is thrashing about.
He’s got to make us like rabbits with our ears
straight up in a place of attentive listening, poised and
ready. That can
only happen when through quietness and rest we come into the
place of balance and abiding.
The
Lord is proactive in the history of man.
It’s He who has reached out and touched us.
He’s the instigator, He’s the Creator, the One
the wise have searched for and desired to find but have not
been able, because they were trusting in themselves.
They thought they could find God through their own
energies, but it is He alone who must bring us to Himself.
Jesus
wants every day to be a miracle, a fresh miracle.
He doesn’t want us to walk by a bunch of rules, he
wants us to walk by his life.
When we have his life we are walking in the miracles.
His resurrection life IS a miracle, and when we walk
in that life, we walk in miracles.
